This was kitty-corner to our hotel (Marriott Courtyard Inn), so we visited more than once. It's a fully-stocked deli (smoked fish, pastrami, knish, etc., all the usual), except that the breads are all bagels. Everything we ate was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The downsides: when the place is hopping, the line can be long, and there's not...

Love Ess-a-Bagel. This is an authentic bagel shop, no frills, but a great place for a real taste of New York. It's also a fun spot to people watch while you nosh on your bagel and cream cheese. Ess also caters to a busy lunch crowd with a large menu of bagel sandwich options. Two thumbs up for Ess-a-Bagel!

I prefer this place over H&H even though the service is typical New York - isn't it always? I just love a simple bagel with raisin walnut cream cheese, and I am one happy out-of-towner. I wish I could stuff these in my luggage when I fly home.

Hubby and I tried savory and sweet: breakfast, lunch and snack. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. Portions hugh (if watching waist-line consider sharing) and prices more than fair by NYC standards.

Saw positive reviews on Yelp and decided to check out this place. Picked up a couple of bagel sandwiches and walked over to central park to enjoy them. They give you generous portions and the bagels are fresh and tasty. Also a great place to eat that will give your wallet a break during your money burning New York getaway.

Don't be intimidated by the line. It moves fairly quick and even still, it's worth the wait!!! Bagels are FAT, have a crispy exterior and soft dense interior, YUM :) They have so many types of cream cheese which allows you to get creative. The service is typical NYC style which is comedic really.

Ess-a bagels is the perfect place in NYC to go for breakfast. We visited twice over a 5 day trip, and to be honest it may have been 5 out of 5 if we'd have found it sooner. An unassuming place the range of bagels and fillings is amazing. Plain, onion, poppy, garlic, salt, wholegrain are some bagel types to...

We came here twice during our 4 days in New York for breakfast. Had a lox spread bagel and blueberry cream cheese bagel, which were so good that we had them twice! Very reasonable prices, and the place was full of locals.

The amount of cream cheese put in these bagelsw in insane. But you know what? That's okay. Know why? That cream cheese is bleepin good! I had the blueberry cream cheese, and oh, it was divine. I had it on a raisin cinnamon bagel, that was also very good, but I'm sorry that cream cheese won me over. The bagels...
