Maybe we were there on the chef's night off, because Amarone certainly did not live up to expectations based on previous reviews. The plates our main courses were served on were cold and so were the vegetables. The rabbit was piping hot but not tender, suggesting it had been reheated in the microwaved but not actually cooked long enough. The...

We went to Amarone at the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel (the Crowne Plaza Times Square) when we asked for a family-friendly Italian restaurant within walking distance. Things started a little roughly when we appeared with our 4 kids (ages 8-12), one of whom is a very picky eater and couldn't believe an Italian restaurant didn't have pizza,...

My wife and i were on a weekend visit to NYC for my Birthday. I had seen good reviews for Amarone here on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. The restaurants decor is very nice and inviting. Had an 8 o'clock reservation and were seated as soon as we got there. For apps i had the eggplant fritters and my...

We had dinner at Amarone on a weeknight and the restaurant was not very busy. Nonetheless, our waiter was quite arrogant and we did not feel very welcome there. The food was good, we had salads and pasta. But since we felt quite rushed by the staff, the dinner experience was not very comfortable. Also, they automatically added a 20%...

I came her with my 17-year old daugter after reading all the great reviews. We arrived late on a Friday after a show (11-ish) and got right in. The restaurant is small with great atmosphere - I spent time in Italy and it reminded me of restaurants in Trastevere or Florence. The prices were reasonable - most entrees $15-25. My...

Had our last meal in the City here. Were in the mood for an old school italian restaurant. Food and service were excellant. Extensive italian wine list. Waiter directed us to a fairly price Tuscan wine. Went perfectly with the veal dishes we had. Very nice ambience. Will definitly be back.

We were treated like family. The food was delicious and affordable. Everyone at the table had a wonderful time, and that's really saying something when you plan a dinner for nine ladies. The owner obviously poured his heart and soul into this restaurant. Skip the big, trendy (and expensive) places and opt for a place like Amarone - you won't...

Ate here several years ago and have wanted to go back. Wondered how the food would be- we were not disappointed. Salads were quite good and the entrees (we all had pasta) were exceptional... had 3 glasses of wine, 2 cappuccinos, and shared 1 dessert. Bill was very reasonable and we were well pleased. A very nice dining experience!

Been in NY, a mile from Times S., on the Hell's Kitchen area, we discovered this wonderful place, Amarone Restaurant; while we were looking at their menu, the host came outside and with a smile invited us to try it. What a surprise!!! We had a great Martini from Natalia, the bartender, and then we moved to the table...after the waiter...

We enjoyed our dinner. Server was a little reserved but we kept being very pleasant and he warmed up. Wine could be more reasonable - very few around $35 a bottle. Bread was delicious and you could have as much as you had the nerve to ask for! We only did entrees, no appetizers or salads. Plenty of food (and...
