We dined here the Saturday before Easter with my daughter and her husband. We ordered two bottles of wine, the fois gras and mussels for appetizers, three orders of the SEARED RARE tuna (that is how it reads on the menu....in capital letters) and an order of crepes. Dessert and coffees. My husband is a connoisseur of seared tuna and...

Wow, sounds like we missed on the tuna significantly! I confess, I am afraid we undercook that dish most times, so your experience was definitely unusual, as I believe your husband discovered on Wednesday night, when the tuna was served in its usual rare state. That doesn't excuse missing on Saturday, however, or that your server didn't pick up on... more

I read the 20-some reviews by people who rated it with only 1 or 2 stars, and I'm impressed that the management has shown enough interest to reply to most of them. We didn't find any of the problems other diners complained about. My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It's a French Bistro, folks. The decor is old...

The restaurant was busy when we visited and we sat outside which was very pleasant. Inside was crowded and loud but seemed to have a good atmosphere. The service was nice and the food good, which was quite a surprise in such a touristy area. All in all a good experience and a recommended restaurant.

After a wonderful lunch in its co-owned "Trellis," we could not wait for our dinner at the Blue Talon which was touted to us as being up-scale "French." Escargot was as close to French as it got. The meals served were closer to Colonial Traditional, the menu was limited and no modification to the menu were allowed. When asked for...

So sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. It's true that we try to discourage changes to the dishes but you should never have gotten a response like that. We'll work with our staff immediately to review how to address those requests and which requests can be most easily accommodated. I am concerned, however, that anyone "touted" us to you... more

Chicken & mushroom crepes were good, potato soup good, cheese plate good, a bit overpriced, but we were in a touristy area. I would probably go back if I stayed in the historic area again. Staff was decent, but didn't go above and beyond.

We came in hungry, cold and wet. We were seated in the back, where it was a bit quieter, warmer ambiance andwith views of the town. We had Jim as our waiter, a seasoned and jovial fellow. Sharon had the Chicken & Mushroom Crepes and I the Braised Lamb Shank both signature dishes at the restaurant. Wed...

Upper moderate price but not bad for middle of vacation area. Dressy casual - reservation with 'table' and we were seated per our "corner table" request." Varied menu, steaks, no pasta, hamburger for less advanturous or kids, we had lamb shank and pied cochon.....spelling(?) which was pigs foot...I know, I know.....but it was prepared shredded and then rolled with...

A warm cozy room with chicken brick brack everwhere. Love the Juila Child video's over the bar. Great comfort food with a friendly staff.

I've tried this restaurant several times, at the request of friends. The service has always been poor, but last night was the ultimate bad. The service was horrible. Not to be a penny pincher, but refills aren't free.

Sorry to hear that you didn't receive good service from our staff. Please consider providing us with some details if you would, so we can make an effort to better serve all of our guests. It's true we don't offer free soft drink refills, but that's because we sell them by the individual container for under $2. Our experience over... more

We were returning home from a weekend out of town and since it was dinner time we decided to drive into Colonial Williamsburg to eat at the Blue Talon. We were pleased to be seated immediately. When we left about 45 minutes later there were people waiting for tables. Our waitress was very familiar with the menu and a help...
