We met the chef of Casa Islena on a snorkel trip so the 7 in our group decided to try it out. The atmosphere is splendid- casual, yet elegant seating just off a beachside pool. There were many delicious looking tapas available and we ordered nearly all of them- none disappointed. We also had some terrific and creative cocktails. It...

#2 Restaurant in Rincon well-deserved, and we would call it #1! Portions were quite generous and extremely well-prepared: we especially enjoyed the swordfish special with amazing coconut and curry sauce and the pork belly and lentils! Wow! The whole meal was filled with amazing flavors and the chocolate torte for dessert was one of the best I have EVER had!...

I ate dinner at the Tapas Restaurant this past weekend while I was staying at the Casa Islena. What an amazing experience! The food was completely delicious, and came in a generous portion-size for "tapas". The menu was extensive with numerous different options. (We had octopus, hummus & olive tapanade plate, bruschetta, and the best dessert EVER- flan con queso-...

My husband and I tried Casa Islena during our honeymoon trip. He is not a tapas kind of guy. His comments are that he always leaves hungry. Well this was not the case at Casa Islena. The tapas portions were generous in size. The mesclun salad was fresh and not overdressed. The lamb chops were cooked well (not overdone) and...

This is my first review for anything. Restaurant was hard to find but well worth it when I did. It's small , secluded and has simply amazing food. Service was great. I also have to mention the bartender. She was very personable, and answered many questions for me. Two thumbs up!

Most Rincon restaurants are "burger and quesadilla" type places. This is one of few that are not. Excellent, creative food in a nice, comfortable environment. We (including our six year old son) had two meals there: weekend brunch and a mid-week dinner. Both were excellent, and the service was both friendly and professional (most of Rincon is the former, but...

A group of 5 of us had nearly one of everything and everything was wonderful- Don't skip desert either. The food would hold it's own in NYC, in Rincon it's a wonderful surprise! If your favorite restaurant isn't a national chain then do yourself a favor and go! (Wear bug spray!)

It is a little hard to find, but well worth the effort! It was such a relief to dine at Casa Islena after days of fried food and no veggies while traveling by car across PR. The local and fresh ingredients coupled with excellent execution by the chef provided us with the best meal of our trip. We had fresh...

After days of bad food and service in Puerto Rico, we finally found amazing food and service. I would recommend the bruschetta and shrimp skewers. The bruschetta was perfectly toasted with a very flavorful topping. We were also very pleased with the beer options--they have some great Oregon beers. After we ate, we talked with the chef and sous chef...
