Tram ride & service were good, but the preprepared food was very average, has anybody told the chef that Atlantic Salmon & Eye fillet are on every menu in Melbourne. How about some creativity & originality with the food. Melbourne prides itself on it's food culture, so why serve this fare? Next time I'll just take the tram ride

I cannot believe this is the #1 rated restaurant on TripAdvisor. This is the first time TripAdvisor reviews have led me astray. I'll review the 4 major components of the Colonial Tramcar: Food: BLAH. Nothing special. I mean, it was made in a "kitchen" the size of a small bathroom so I guess I shouldn't have expected much, but for...

Went on the Tramcar Restaurant for our 8 year anniversary. Was a very different and fun experience. I'd heard that the food is pre-prepared so I was expecting something average, but it was surprisingly good. We had the 5 course meal on the late session and it was perfectly balanced (ie. no tiny mains followed by a mountain of dessert)....

We decided to do this because for us pomms, Trams are a novel experience.. And glad we did. We went for the early three course service and the food quality and quantity was just about right for us. The service was very very good, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Was pleased with the route as we hadn't researched...

My partner and I dined on the tramcar restaurant and we found the experience to be wonderful. The only thing we would change if we went again would be to go on the later/longer service as we couldn't believe how quick the early service went, although wonderful as it was. Food was nice, wine great, atmosphere warm.

This was our second visit for dinner and were relatively disappointed in this instance. Due to roadworks on Spencer street the journey was restricted to the st Kilda area and did not attempt to traverse the city. The food was very disappointing, especially so when you consider the price paid. There are plenty of nice eateries in Melbourne which offer...

My husband and I went on the Colonial Tramcar to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary, for the five course dinner menu. It was such a fun night, although the food isn't what we would consider 5 stars, it was good nevertherless. The service, lots of wine and a great atmosphere certainly made up for it. It is also true that...

We had a lovely lunch on the tram for Easter! The food was amazing as always, the only downside was that I was too full to finish my cheese! We loved the cosy tram setting and the delicious food. The atmosphere was great thanks to friendly other diners and superb staff. I bring all my overseas guests on the tram...

I have been on the Tramcar twice, once as a work christmas party and once for a family member's birthday. I liked it the first time but was over it the second time as the menu was exactly the same. Lovely fun atmosphere. Nice food. Good to do once with a group of four.

LOVED IT! An unusual, unforgettable, utterly delicious evening! We did the Late Dinner service, which was 5 courses...the appetizer dips were soooo yummy, and we enjoyed our first ever bowl of Jerusalem Artichoke Soup- much better than the name suggests! Mains were cooked well, desert was indulgent and the cheese platter to finish (selection of local cheeses + wine) topped...
