From the moment we walked in (six of us) we were overwhelmed with the friendliness and the desire from all staff members to make our lunch memorable! Guy Grossi himself came to our table and wished my sister a very happy birthday. She mentioned to him that she forgot to bring her copy of his latest cookbook for him to...

Travelled to Melbourne for business, we opted to dine out and chose Grossi Florentino, 80 Burke Street, Melbourne, for dinner. Our choice couldnt have been more perfect. A curved staircase leads you up to the 1st floor restaurant, where you are promptly greeted and seated. The waiter brought out a stool for my handbag to be place upon instead of...

ate in the upstairs fine ding room as part of the Melbourne food festival which offers bargain priced 2 course meals for a week in March every year. Great dining room with top service not overly stuffy. food is always very good with some interesting dishes. quite expensive a'la carte $55 main courses but always a bargain if you can...

Last weekend's visit to Melbourne took us to The Cellar Bar for lunch on Saturday - we were lucky to get a table inside - as a matter of fact front row looking onto Bourke St - service was good - food was delicious - we shared the Roasted Tomato brushetta which when bought to our table we were offered...

I dined at Grossi's yesterday. We sat downstairs in the more casual dining area, which to me surpassed many other eateries I have visited. The wait staff were dressed immaculately in pressed shirts, & waistcoats. They were polite and on demand when needed. Making a cocktail that wasn't on the menu was delivered with a smile. Food was served moderately....

We went to the Grossi grill with high expectations. Sadly, we were disappointed. The items on the menu sounded great.  I ordered the orecchiette with pork cheek, and my partner ordered the lobster tortellini. Hers was quite bland.  Although lobster should be kept simple, it still needs some flavour. Her plate was old, scratched and dirty   My pasta was...

We have eaten both upstairs in the resturant and downstairs in the Grill. A lot of reviews here do not make this distinction but its important because they are 2 entirely different experiences. Firstly downstairs is noisy, bustly, with big tables and geared at Theatre go-ers (i.e. quick but quality). Excellent food and service Bistro style, but if its your...
