We have travelled to Madeira for over 10 years, as a now 50 – 60’s couple, and have decided to document this years restaurant visits. Dining took place either late afternoon or early evening spread across a variety of establishments with bills costing between €33 and €83. Each visit included a bottle of wine, large still water and coffee. This...

A very pleasant meal. Amazing champagne risotto. My other half had the beef which was brought to the table and sliced off a skewer. He said it was delicious. Really attentive service and friendly staff. So glad we chose to eat here.

This was on our list of places to try based on Trip Advisor reviews. Have to admit, not quite sure what the fuss is about. To be fair, we went just afterng time which didn't really help the atmosphere as we were the only ones there. I think my main beef (excuse the pun) was with their rather fussy...

It might be our interpretation of a tenderloin is different than the Madeiran, because it is the second time this week We ordered it and got sirloin served. Wine was ok but not what we said we wanted (dry red wine from northern Portugal). Starters were great but again not what we thought we were getting - the menu said...

Really friendly restaurant. Food was excellent (we had the house speciality) , cooked rare as requested with simple accompaniment of frites & salad. No over the top servings of vegetables. desert was ok, but the main course was excellent. Wanted to go back on Sunday but it isn't Waiter suggested excellent wines, both white & red. Very highly recommended.

Had a week in Madeira and ate here twice. As dedicated meat eaters and having read previous reports 'passed' on the starters and went 'straight In' to the main menu and had the house speciality 'Pincanha' ( New Zealand Rump Steak - Brazilian style ) cooked how you wanted it. We both love our steak rare and were not disappointed....

Excellent food and extremely pleasant service. My colleague gave me the restaurant's card from her visit last year and I'll do the same if any of my friends will ever go to Madeira. Went there for my son's birthday and was totally pleased with our choice.

Unpreposessing from the outside, but good feel inside. A very professional restaurant serving excellent quality meats (some fish too although we didn't try this). Good value and charming staff. Probably best to try elsewhere if you're vegetarian, although we did see them willingly accommodate a veggie client with an off menu risotto.

Don't be put off by the cow at the front of the restaurant. The sliced picanha is superb value & a great experience. They will come back with seconds & thirds, so don't bother with a starter. Slightly strange accompaniments (sweet & oridinary roast potato, cabbage, rice, black beans & a type of sauce) but this is still a memorable...

Food as theatre - imagine a skewer 3 foot long with several joints of beef on it, and carved onot your plate. Fabulous meat. And seconds offered. Not all the staff speak great English.
