Owned by what might be the best bakery in town, it looks like a, and is, a wine store and meat counter. Incredible wine selection. antipasti of meats was amazing, and of course served with bread from the bakery. Small and frequented by Romans in the know.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a member of my immediate family. We walked up at 7pm on our first night in Rome asking for a table. The waiter says the place is booked, but the owner tells him it's OK as long as we are out of there by 9pm. We say that's fine. What follows after we...

I am guilty for not heeding the sign- Their "joselito" serrano ham was listed at 300 euro/kg when I got the same for 120/kg in BArcelona. But hey, this is Roma and everyone of my friends plus my idol Chef Anthony Bourdain recommended it. Well it was a total flop- I ordered the "carribbean" acnhovies with Ishigy burre for antipasti...

We found this restaurant in an article about where to eat in Rome and after eating there, the magazine didn't do it justice. We had a fantastic meal sitting downstairs amongst the bottles of wine and beside the ham slicer (it is in a salumeria after all). The food was excellent as was the service, we were really looked after...

With no reservation - only a recommendation from a guide book - we took the chance on getting a table for lunch. We were squeezed in next to the refrigerated display case by the entrance. Surrounded by locals, we nonetheless used our limited Italian skills which were met warmly. Although we ordered Carbonara and a side of chicory, we were...

My boyfriend and I have just had lunch at this place. We consider ourselves to be "foodies" and don't mind spending money on good food. However, this place should never be advertised Or described a Rome's best! The food was cold and quite tasteless, nothing that we couldn't have made ourselves and the wine was significantly overpriced. The set-up was...

Great place for everything except the "prime" cuts of beef. The carbonara excels and the wines, cheeses and prosciuttos are superb. The "prime" steaks are very tasty but tough! The prices are so high they are beyond belief! Eighty euros for a steak for 1. I'll take Peter Luger's any day.

This is a great place: both a restaurant and a delicatessen, its speciality is the sourcing of its raw materials from the best suppliers even for the simplest dish - the result is truly excellent. Even a for a simple Pasta Carbonara the menu will detail the origin of the pasta, the butter, the eggs and the jowl bacon used....

Friends told us about this restaurant in Rome called Roscioli so we seeked it out and it was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! The flavors of the food cannot be beat!! And NOT touristy at all either, which was a huge priority for us as my sister and I have both been to Rome and we try to avoid the "touristic menus" like...
