But what remains is the amazing kindness of the staff - arising at an ungodly hour to bring fresh coffee and muffins for our drive to the ferry in Digby so we wouldn't be famished....

First I would recommend you don't stay in Bridgewater not a great location for a holiday or a break. Lunneneburg is ten times better and has better hotels and dining.The Fairview Inn is OK but tired and when we stayed deathly quiet. Very comfortable Inn. Owners are hands on providing uncommon welcomeness.Great deck/pool area for outdoor summer dining. Recently extensively renovated while maintaining historic character. Lecated in center of nice residential neighborhood in town center. Carnberries is an excellent restaurant with a varied menu. High recommended. Outstanding value.
