We stayed 4 nights at The Marcel. It is located near Gramarcy Park which is a beautiful part of town. Third Avenue is noisy and the rooms that face third can be loud. They were nice about changing the room once we mentioned it. IF the hotel is full, this could be a problem. At least 3 rooms per floor...

I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Excellent value for New York, which is rare. Most particularly helpful was Mark Butler the Front Office Supervisor who checked me in, promptly dealt with everything that was required of him and attended to an issue i had with concern and follow through. I will definitely be staying there again.

The Marcel was great, particularly the staff. From the moment I arrived, they couldn't do enough to please me. I had a third floor street-facing room and, unlike another reviewer, didn't have any issue at all with street noise....and I slept with the window wide The HVAC is not individually controlled so I immediately asked them to adjust it...

We just recently stayed here. The hotel is clean and nicely furnished. We had a great experience with Michael at the front desk. He was helpful and got us into a larger room.
