My room gave a great view of Central Park that made me happy about the room I stayed in. The room was bigger with equally big bathroom attached. Hotel Wales is situated on an excellent location keeping all interests very close to it. I went out a few times to enjoy some of the French delicacies nearby. In all, my...

Last week, a small sign planted on a sidewalk called our attention to a new health-centric eatery located inside a boutique hotel. No, there was no hipster scene-y appeal, nor did the eatery have some hot celebrity chef's name attached to it. But we like to think of the Juicy Naam—a popular Long Island-based raw food and juice bar that...

My room was small but elegantly furnished and clean - the size of a 12x12 bedroom. But there was NO view (looked out onto an ugly wall a few yards away from the window, so that made it feel a little claustrophobic). But being a few blocks from Central Park, I had no intention of staying in my room for...

Lovely clean hotel, but I got bed bug bites while there. When I got home I went to the Dr. who confirmed that indeed I had been bitten by bed bugs. I emailed the Hotel and responded to their feed back email and got no response. I asked that they pay for my Dr. appt. and perhaps I should get...

I apologize for not getting a quick response from us at the Hotel Wales, however we never got this e-mail concerning this issues. The E mail this concerned was sent to is one that comes to all managers and a siutation like this would have been on high alert for us and would have been a quick response, which business...

The Hotel Wales has come in for a bit of stick recently, but our experience was great. We had a Madison Corner Suite which was large, well lit and full of period detail. It had great views towards Central Park and down Madison Avenue - one downside was the noise of the traffic as the windows are not that well...

When we checked in, the desk clerk seemed to change his mind about whether breakfast vouchers were included in the room. We didn't get one, but all my colleagues did. We were given a room on the third floor overlooking Madison Avenue. A "junior suite", it was dark, sparsely furnished (and no wall hangings at all - we were told...

The hotel is very overpriced. The rooms are painted in depressing green despite the fact that there are nice featutes around the doors - they are igniored. When I arrived (3pm) the staff was very unwelcoming. The room was opposite anwindow in the corridor - strong cigarette smoke smell came from it. The bed was directly opposite the...

I stayed at the Hotel Wales many times per month over a nine year period. Sadly, after the departure of the general manager this past fall the hotel has gone steadily down hill. After a three month hiatus to see if things would improve, they have gotten even worse. Broken blinds and fixtures in the room, housekeeping that cannot be...

Farewell Hotel Wales. We have stayed here a half-dozen times over past decade due to lovely neighborhood, proximity to Central Park and hotel's old world character. We put up with tiny, occasionally dingy rooms because of access to the once wonderful Carnegie Lounge. Alas, the owners have shot themselves in the foot, turning the lounge into a noisy, antiseptic meeting...

This is the second time that my partner and I have spent the better part of a week at the Wales. The first time we took one of the Junior Suites, because the reviews said the doubles were so small. This time, since I needed to work in the room part of the time, we upgraded ourselves to one of...
