The Waldorf was a very nice hotel. I agree the rooms are a bit dated but, it is an old hotel.
My only complaint is that while sitting in Sir Harry's bar the first evening we got there I was appalled at the amount of prostitutes that were so obvious in their solicitation of patrons. One guy was blind sided...

Overall great experience though rooms are small and and furniture is outdated.
This was our first stay at the Waldorf. We were there for 4 nights in April 2011.
The service was excellent. We found the staff friendly and when we asked to change rooms, they showed us another room. Our room was smaller and it had 2 double beds....

The Waldorf is a lovely hotel, very steeped in tradition with excellent service and security but the rooms could do with some updating, we stayed in a double double ie. a room with 2 double beds which were reasonably comfortable but a bit cramped for taller people there wasn't enough storage space for 3 adults, the overall impression was good...

We booked this hotel because the rates were comparable to others...and who wouldn't want to stay at the Waldorf Astoria!! It's a beautiful hotel and very fancy. Our kids (age 5, 3 and 7months are pretty quiet and not "run aways" so we didn't get TOO many looks. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, even offering...

Upon check-in we were greeted by Jackie. She made us feel right at home with her smile and willingness to ensure a satisfactory stay. She did not disappoint. The room and stay were fantastic. Anyone who is looking to experience an awe inspiring, historic and luxurious environment with service to match, this is your chance.
Thank you.....

This was first on my "Bucket List". I have Ovarian cancer and "Living while I'm alive", as Bon Jovi would say. Everyone was extremely nice, helpful, friendly and made you feel special. We had great accomidations and service. The food and service at the hotel was the best. Our room was always in order and ready for us. If you...

My boss' son was graduating from West Point and we booked several rooms to accommodate the guests coming into NYC for the graduation event. I must say that I was extremely impressed with the hotel's elegance, the professionalism of the staff and the size and cleanliness of the rooms -- and the marble bathrooms are just gorgeous! This was my...

I decided on this hotel for our 6 day break on reputation of the hotel and location. The room we were allocated was of reasonable size for a city hotel. However, it was so tired I think it had fallen asleep! Damp and peeling wallpaper in the 2 windows, bath and shower did'nt work properly and was a struggle to...

I had read some negative reviews on TripAdvisor and seen some pretty bad pictures too, so when I arrived at the Waldorf I was prepared for the room to be a bit old and in need of a refresh....but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to see none of this at all!
The room was bright, clean...

We returned from 6 days in NY, and we splurged and used a bunch of points to stay in the Waldorf Astoria.
While we had a lovely stay, I must mention that it was free to us since we were on points, and since my wife is a diamond status in Hilton we may have gotten a nicer room than...
