Lobby and lounge are 4 star, but rooms are not even close. Very, very small (even for NYC) and ordinary. The linens, furnishings and in-room amenities could easily have come from a much lesser chain hotel. The hotel has a nice old new york feel in the common areas, but if that doesn't mean that much to you, spend your...

The Algonquin Hotel is a charming gem of a hotel in convenient midtown Manhattan. I found the service to be outstanding - professional and genuinely friendly. The staff seems really glad you chose their excellent hotel! The rooms are much larger and newer looking than I expected. The Algonquin is now owned by Marriott, so you can earn points for...

Be sure to sign up with the hotel website's e-newsletter. That's how I found out about the 30% off if you book within a 24 hours.
With the discount, it's a phenomenal value for the room and location, steps away from Times Square! The hotel itself is filled with history, and actually has a bit of a creepy feel to...

What a lovely and comfortable visit! The lobby alone wafts you back into Round Table days, all dark wood and elegance. My room was truly large enough for two, a rarity in these days of boutique "closets" masquerading as hotel rooms. The staff was so pleasant. The location is not too close to Times Square, across from a great coffee...

I had a great experience staying at the Algonquin! The month of May seems to be a pricey time of the year for hotel rooms in NYC...I got a fantastic deal through the Priceline bidding system...$145/night...a great price for a room so close to Times Square. (For help on the best way to use the Priceline bidding process, check out...

The hotel room was really small, however it was neat and cozy. I didn't like the bathroom much, it was not well kept and the bath tub looked like it was as old as the hotel!! I found the hotel itself to be classy and pretty decent. The location is awesome as it's only two blocks away from Times Square.

Travelled to New York with my teenage grandson and we were made most welcome by all the staff. We loved the hotel, which was traditional and so different from the usual modern large hotels which you can find in most cities. Read previous reviews and were slightly nervous about our choice. It met all our expectations. Twin-bedded bedroom was more...

We rec'd a gift certificate including two nights, cont. breakfast, taxes, and tips. Great property and location, great service. Only a couple blocks to Times Square. Front desk personnel (especially Jennie) were always friendly and professional. Our deluxe room was small, but updated and spotless. Meals and drinks seemed quite pricey to us and therefore we only ate the continental...

My s.o. and I stayed here for a weekend in March. Check-in was very efficient. We had a room on the 12th floor. This being NYC and an old building, we knew the room would be small. It was - there wasn't a dresser - just a small closet, desk, and nightstand, but it was fine. Bathroom was very small,...

Came to NYC for a friend's bachelor party at the Yankee game, so I was really looking for some place to crash that 1) wouldn't be too expensive, 2) had easy access to the D or 4 train, and 3) wouldn't be too expensive. #'s 1 and 3 were taken care of with reservations made through Priceline.com, and I'd recommend...
