Stayed for nine days, to co-incide with daughter's 40th birthday. Near all sights and two blocks off Central Park. Hotel room clean, also clean sheets and towels, although room a bit tired looking. Room had 'small kitchen area' - microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Shame there were no plates, dishes etc, or even cutlery. We had go and buy paper...

Stayed for 7 nights and family members had two spacious rooms facing 57th Street, and we had extremely spacious suite at rear of hotel (15th Floor). Rooms spotless with kitchenette facilities and the whole place felt homely, safe, quiet and relaxed. It is not modern and some of the decor and plumbing (the bathrooms in particular) is quirky and dated...

The Salisbury Hotel is very well situated for a great stay in New York city. It is smack in the middle of Manhattan and a stones throw from 5th Avenue. Carnegie Hall is just opposite with the subway (Tube ) to all the main tourist sites right on the corner. (Buy a 7 day pass $29- takes you on the...

After previously staying on 34th street, we really appreciated the location of the salisbury both in terms of getting anywhere in Manhattan but also the difference in noise. On 34th it felt as though our room was in the middle of road with sirens all night but the salisbury was far more peaceful. The breakfast buffet was a bargain and...

After reading numerous reviews, we booked at the Salisbury. For the price and location it was well worth it. We enjoyed going to Central Park after a long day and relaxing there.

Only 2 blocks from Central Park in a nice quieter area, very good service/staff. Older building and rooms, but completely clean and comfortable. Very close to buses and subway. Easy walk to Times Square and other major mid-town sites. Continental breakfast is $6 extra, but cheaper than going out. All in all, good value for the money. Would definitely go...

Thought this hotel was a brilliant price! Room was HUGE!! One king size bed and a double sized sofa bed in the living room area. Two big lcd televisions. Beds were really comfortable, even the sofa bed! Bathroom was dated but worked fine and had a hairdryer. Didn't really use kitchen, but the fridge did come in handy! Staff were...

don't expect frills. This basic hotel does what it says on the tin - comfortable commodious and cheap. don't bother with the breakfast - there are at least 3 brilliant diners within 5 mins stroll - lets face it who wants hotel food when your in New York!!! Staff are very helpful and approachable.

Lovely clean room and very friendly and helpful staff. The bed was huge and the room was very spacious. Very close to sights. Just disappointed there wasn't any coffee making facilities in the room, however there is a Starbucks opposite!
