As i said, ver good hotel. A little expensive but in a great location. Very close to the Metro stations. Should have free wifi.

The location is lovely...close to the park, cafes on Columbus Ave., Hayden, walk through Central Park to the Guggenheim, subway close by...Our room was large with two beds, nice bath, and was very clean. We had no need for interaction with staff except at check in and that was pleasant. I look forward to returning on my next trip to...

1 person found this review helpful Booked several months ago for a 6 night stay- room was small but efficient and almost clean- drop of blood on sink and hair on bathroom wall tiles! Then after 4 nights, found cockroach in closet. Had to call twice and wait 45 minutes before anyone came - we weren't fast enough to catch the creature and it disappeared. After...

Location was excellent - very near Central Park, across the road from Natural History Museum. Very near subway, bank, and, one block from some nice restaurants and pubs. Rooms very clean but quite small. And quite a lot of noise from traffic during the night. (bring ear-plugs!). No tea-making facilities, but maybe that's normal in USA hotels (we have them...

2 people found this review helpful We spent 5 days at the Excelsior and loved it. The hotel was clean, well appointed, and staffed by friendly helpful individuals who seemed genuinely interested in meeting needs/ requests that we had. The concierge gave us (two somewhat naive Southerners) an instructive "short course" in negotiating the subway which enabled us get around like New Yorkers. The front desk...

My husband and I recently spent an evening in a beautiful suite at the Excelsior. The rooms are well-appointed, yet comfortable. The beds were cozy and I loved how the french doors separated the living and bedroom area. The view was wonderful... we overlooked the Museum of Natural History. The common areas are also outstanding! The lobby is beautiful and...

If there is one constructive comment that we'd make, it would be that the front desk staff should learn how to smile and generally demonstrate that they appreciate the customers with whom they are interacting. On the other hand, the attendant in the breakfast room (Beata!), cleaning staff and Bellmen (Mark!) have been fabulous! They genuinely show that they are...

Locaton was awesome, perfect spot for a quiet time in NYC. Subway a half a block away which was nice and some decent places within walking distance. I did see alot of reviews on rude staff and now I can see why. Very moody it seemed and not very nice. Room was tiny like many hotels in the city but...

Four girlfriends and I had a wonderful time in NYC as we had a weekend to ourselves celebrating the 50th birthday of a dear friend. Having never stayed at the Exclesior, I was unsure of what to expect. It is one of the rare times that I can say that our experience exceeded all expectations. The staff was OUTSTANDING! Omayra...

I was concerned about staying here because of poor TripAdvisor staff reviews. In fact, the staff really takes care of you -- they're wonderful, helpful, and gracious. If you have any problems, Omaria at the front desk is the one to ask for. She handled the one silly difficulty I encountered quickly and efficiently. The woman who runs the breakfast...
