The hotel is dingy, dirty, and smells like an old basement. The room I stayed in had worm carpet, mold on the bath tub/shower, the phone was broken, the alarm clock was broken, and I could hear the person in the next room ALL NIGHT yelling on the phone. At $250/night, I did not expect a 1 star motel in...

Just returned from our second stay at The Roger Smith which was great, again!. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the rooms are lovely and big and the American Breakfast fab. Unlike the large, impersonal chain hotels, this hotel has a really cosy, family atmosphere and the rooms, which are all different, have THE most comfortable beds I have...

This hotel makes you feel like home, but more coddled! Staff is very kind and helpful, rooms are neat - all different! - and the breakfast is marvellous! The Eggs Florentine was the best we ever had! I I highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again!

We were in New York for 4 days, just to check out the city, have a feel of it etc...we travelled with our 2 and a half year-old daughter, so we were looking for a place close to everything by foot, safe, cosy and a suite, so when she goes to bed, we can still have a chat and a...

This is a great hotel to stay at. Nice rooms. Very good location. Fairly close to Grand Central Terminal. Good value for the location. Staff is very attentive. This was the second time we stayed here.

I used to like this euro-centric - mostly small country Europe for some reason - hotel, but less so now. It has been renovated. Bathrooms are very nice, rooms funky 'British library' style. But front desk at night is an excruciatingly slow one man no-show and even during the day check in is understaffed and slow. And the manager (?)...

We booked the most expensive room type: the "deluxe suite", and paid more than $500 per night, only to find out we just could not sleep there... In their web site, they don't tell you that on the near-by roof, just against the suite's window, there are giant air-condition engines, making terrible noise 24/7. After a sleepless night we were...

I would love to compliment the Roger Smith Hotel on having exceptional staff. In particular, Randy, Omar and Jim! They went over and above and beyond any expectations that I had. They were also extremely helpful and helped to make my stay great! Randy especially had excellent banter and was more than willing to help everyone at all times!!! By...

This hotel is a gem among the sterile big hotels that seem to dominate in Manhattan. Big, clean rooms, very friendly staff, and very comfortable beds at a reasonable price add up to a very good experience.
