I would never recommend this place, you get what you pay for. I arrived late and the man who checked us in was so rude, he made it obvious we disturbed him. If you leave your luggage they have you put it under a staircase and anyone has access to it. Of course they tell you they are not responsible...

Dear Customer, After reading your review, the first question approaching my mind is: “Is this review about our hotel, or some other place?!. Being a small inn in the big city, we feel it is important to offer courteous, personal and authentic connections to our guests. We feel very confident in our night clerks as they have been assisting our... more

I am writing to express my DEEP dissatisfaction with my stay at the Chelsea Inn. My stay lasted from May.14th 2011-May.18th 2011. I chose to stay at the Chelsea Inn due to its location and reasonable prices. Another deciding factor for my choice was the flexibility and the ability of the staff to accommodate my needs via the phone before...

Dear Customer, We would like to apologize again for your DEEP dissatisfaction with the Chelsea Inn. We are very sorry for not providing an additional bed immediately as well as for the restroom being partially out of order for around two hours when you checked in. We wish we would be more efficient with addressing those problems during your stay.... more

Hotel right next to a night club, splash bar, check it out on the net.  All night, every night, music was thumping through our bedroom.  Drunk people in streets, doors banging, cars speeding past.  We did not get much sleep, leaving little energy for site seeing.  Constant smoke drifting through the windows and doors, we were at times scared.  Cleaners...

We received a gift of a night at Chelsea Inn. When I called to book the room, I was told that they have a 2-night minimum on weekends. This restriction is mentioned absolutely nowhere on the gift certificate. We won't be able to use this gift and I feel especially badly for the very kind people who gave it to...

We booked with Thomas Cook but it turns out they booked through Expedia. The hotel staff could not locate our booking and implied we had been conned. Repeatedly telling us that he had "never heard of Thoms Cook, we've never dealt with them and I've been here 5 years". He had no suggestions about what we could do but made...

The location is PERFECT and very quaint. We had a first floor room, which was lovely. I would hate to have to climb the stairs - they were incredibly narrow. BUT this is a "budget" hotel and I imagine you get used to the stairs. Below is a nice little bakery from which guests receive a very basic continental breakfast...

I was concerned when my friend booked this accommodation as it had a few bad reviews, but i was pleasantly surpirsed when I got there. The room was a good size, the staff were helpful, and it was in a great location. We had a room with a shared bathroom and we never even saw the other guests in there....

For what worked out to $133/night including tax, we had an amazing location in Manhattan, nice and helpful staff, a smallish but reasonable and well-heated room, a somewhat comfortable bed, a clean bathroom that we shared with one other room, and a danish/apple/cup of tea breakfast. Unless you're willing to spend $200+, you're not going to do much better than...
