* excellent service for value, could be better with internet access in rooms
* room is clean, strict and comfortable, shared baths are clean and easy to access
* location can't be better
* I loved the 24H free access for coffee and decaf at 1/4$, Esther which is friendly and efficient. Thank you

I know this place has a mission, so I feel bad about giving it a lousy review, but as a hotel this place is not so good. The price is low, so I suppose I should not expect so much, but it just feels like it needs a good thorough cleaning. Everything is a bit dingy and grimy. Most of...

I believe this guest stayed at our place during an uncharacteristic "perfect storm" of literally a snow storm in January where that storm and the fact that some of our housekeepers were unable to get into the guesthouse to clean rooms made it an unusual situation. We have now instituted a policy where our housekeepers stay overnight in the guesthouse...

The location is great, one block from Union Square. Supermarkets etc. are all around. I booked a single room, which came with a single bed, a sink, desk, TV and closet. Toilet and shower room was just opposite. My room was located on the 11th floor with a nice view.
Staff at the reception and cleaning maids are really unfriendly,...

Stayed here for one week during Christmas time. It was the second stay here for us. Best is Location: A short walk to Union Square with easy access to the subway. Union Square is also nice: There is a small market and a nice surrounding with a lot of shops. SoHo is also easy to reach via Broadway within a...

I stayed for 13 nights in a single room with shared shower and toilet and with the seafarer's discount it was a bargain. The room is great for the price - bed, desk, hanging rack, drawers, tv airconditioner and sink. There are two showers and two toilets in the corridors and I never had to wait for a shower. There...

This is a lovely find, good value for money, great location with a subway station round the corner where you can find a whole food supermart, pharmacy etc. Though I stayed alone I felt safe. The room and shared bath were clean and it's a one-user type so you lock up when you enter to use bath. Didn't have to...

Stayed for a couple of days in Jun/Jul on two occasions. Room with private facilities was ok although the beds are small (singles); didn't like the shared bathrooms though (which I had to use for one night). Had the same experience with the maid leaving the roomswith the tv full-on (not sure what that's about). Overall, fairly clean;...

You can't beat the location for the price. The staff were polite and helpful. We had a room with a shared bathroom and never had to wait for either the toilet or the shower. Would definetly stay here again.

Stayed in the private room with shared bathroom. This room as a single bet as well as a fold-out cot for the 2nd guest.
This is terrific value for New York at around $100 per night. There is free wireless in the lobby as well as 2 free computers for guest use; also a laundry in the basement and 25c...

I booked this hotel based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor and wasnt disappointed. The location is perfect to see the whole city, just a short walk to Union square subway station which gives great access to go north or south.
The room was basic, but clean. The shared shower wasnt always as clean as home, but its what you...
