This is a great location, with nice rooms and bathrooms, and overall a nice helpful staff. It could be a fabulous place, but a few things are missing. For this price, you expect the little extra effort.
- Had to ask to have a ripped, plastic mattresss pad replaced.
- There are not lamps or tables on both sides of...

My husband and I stayed here on a business trip. We were greeted upon check in with a glass of wine (complementary of course) and had a continental breakfast upon departure. Everything in between was as wonderful. Being in Manhattan, at the price we paid, we got more than expected, both in service and cleanliness as well as quality of...

I have stayed 6 days in the Blue Moon (11-17 oktober 2010).
Next to China Town and Little Italy, this authentic thirties/forties design hotel is the ideal location in downtown Manhattan!
You are going 60 years back in time! Even the music in the lobby is taking you back!
The feel is 1930/1940, the features are modern.
I had the...

This renovated tenement with period furnishings is very cool and the service very good. However for the rather high price, it's not quite the luxury adverted. The bathrooms are kind of ordinary with plastic cups and rather thin towels. The mini bar is a refrigerator with a some soda and water to purchase and the in room coffee maker came...

We’re glad to see that parguy99 appreciates the concept of our hotel, and more importantly, the service – for which we are known and which keeps our loyal guests coming back for more.
With regard to:
The prices: are median range for New York City. Our rooms are huge, and free continental breakfast is included in the price.

This hotel is very nice and in a great location for those of us who want quiet. Just by alphibet city, just the other side of Delancey, by the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, it is welcoming, clean and comfortable. There is no restuarant (plenty around the corner) and a host a jewish pastries for breakfast.
This hotel is ideal...

We arrived here after an exhausting trip from Australia and were thrilled to find that it has all the charm the pictures suggest. This is a great hotel if you're looking for something with unique character (which we were). The staff were friendly and accommodating. The Duke Ellington room was gorgeous - the rooms are a great size and the...

Lower East Side is a funky and fun place to be. Hotel rooms were large by NY standards. Breakfast served on paper plates and paper cups which given the price of the hotel is not acceptable. Eccentric service. Good size rooms. Hotel building was in old tenement building which was beautiful but unfortunately done up by someone with poor taste...

Although taste is subjective, this review does not concur with the awards the Blue Moon has received for preservation, art and design. It is likewise out of sync with the hundreds of appreciative reviews we have received on TripAdvisor.
The rooms contain period-appropriate furniture of solid wood, wrought-iron beds, Palatial Crest Pillowtop mattresses which are covered with mattress covers for...

This hotel was all it claimed. Comfortable and friendly, everyone was pleasant and helpful. Paul welcomed us with a much-needed glass of wine after a long, unplanned tour of the city, courtesy of our limo driver!!! Rooms were immaculate, tastefully decorated and offered lots of privacy. Great view from our room, walking distance to wonderful restaurants, bars, Chinatown, SoHo, Little...

My friends and I came to NYC to celebrate bachelorette party. We wanted it to be an unforgettable experience for years to remember. It was very unforgettable but not quite the way we wanted it to be thanks to disappointment with our hotel but most of all a horrible customer service experience... We researched hotels online long before coming and...

This review does not concur with our previous reviews. It is a fact that our rooms are well-appointed, immaculate, period-appropriate, with historical details, state of the art services, large bathrooms with deep tubs, designed c. 1920 motif.
Several clarifications are in order: The room was not $500, it was approximately $425. The first question they asked upon arrival was "Can...

My partner and I recently stayed for 5 nights at Blue Moon, this was our first trip to New York and we stayed at various locations around the city and this hotel was our favourite. It's great value for money, the rooms were big for NY standards, well equipped with small table, coffee machine, safe etc.
Lower East Side was...
