Front office staff was so rude. It seemed they were doing us a favor at all times.
I moved to the Mark and then the Four seasons and that only showed how unprofessional people at Jumeirah essex house were.
I will never return.
You can get better hotels in NYC for the same price.

Toilet barely flushed and had to be plumbed shortly after arrival (room 829, probably still a problem). Returned to same room at 12:30 am next night to discover sewage backup into bathtub!! Really gross. Switched rooms at 1 am. Management provided complimentary continental breakfasts as comps. New room had adjooining door (designed for families) and noise problems from family with...

We stayed in this hotel while getting married in NYC and I simply cannot praise it enough. We booked a junior suite and were upgraded on arrival to a room with views of the Park and the City skyline. The hotel receptionist even sent complimentary champagne and strawberries to our room within half an hour of our arrival after we'd...

We booked a junior suite and we were well pleased with it. The room did not have a view but we did not spend that much time in the room so it was not a problem. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout our five night stay. Breakfast was not included but we did try it on 3 mornings -...

Located on Central Park South, two blocks from Fifth Avenue, there cannot possibly be a better located hotel in the city. Also, just three blocks to Time Warner Center (and Whole Foods). Central Park is accessible at any time, being right opposite.
For New York, the room sizes are decent, the service is really friendly, room service is efficient. Housekeeping...

First the positive: superb location, beautiful lobby, spectacular breakfast buffet, exceptionally comfortable bed, kind and attentive staff. However, I will not be returning to this hotel for several reasons. Upon check in at 1:00AM, I found our room to be unsatisfactory, due to the strong smell of mildew and stained grout in the bathroom, and the incredibly small size of the room. I...

Stayed here for 6 nights, and had issues with staff/service on 4 of those nights. Supposed complimentary breakfasts were charged to our account. Eventually these charges (as this happened more than once), were reluctantly removed by a supposed Manager, whose customer service skills were wanting-he then revoked the complimentary breakfasts from our stay (after we had genuine reason to be...

I went for a meeting to New York last week and stayed at the Jumeirah. I had a room on the 41st floor with a view at the Central Park. I was waking up in the mornings, sitting on my desk and I did not want to leave the room. I came back in the evening and just by watching...

Just returned from a 5-day trip to the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel and now back online looking to see when I can return. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially when our arrival was delayed by 24hrs due to aircraft failure. Excellent location directly opposite Central Park - ideal to get away from the noise and crowds nearer Midtown/Times Square. The...

The Essex House is my first choice of places to stay in NYC. The rooms are lovely & the bed is "heavenly". The location is superb for anything you're doing while in the city. The views of Central Park are something I always have from my room..because I can't get these from home, so pay the extra $ it is...
