This is a great hotel! All of the staff I interacted with was extremely friendly and accommodating. The nautical theme is carried out in a fun and inviting way, which makes this a truly unique and fun place to stay. There are also two great restaurants in the hotel to choose from - Japanese and Italian. Both were wonderful. I...

Stayed for a week in The Maritime for business (with some leisure though - hey this is the city...). Rooms are really great, large for nyc standards, great design, very convenient with all you need. TV station old but who cares in the city. Cleaning is perfect, very friendly staff, great bar next to the lobby plus italian restaurant with...

Thanks for the review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and the various food and beverage offerings we have here on the property. I wanted to just follow up on the soundproofing of the rooms that you mentioned. When we firstd, we really had a bad issue with the vintage porthole windows from the 60's. At first,... more

We spent a week at the Maritime. It was our second time in the hotel and as usual it was amazing. The staff is very friendly, the food is very good and the location is amazing: walking distance from all the Chelsea galleries, designers shops from the meatpacking and the High Lane Park. If I go back to NYC, I'll definitely...

I travel quite a bit for work and prefer to stay at boutique hotels whenever possible. I was participating in the Wine & Spirits Magazine Top of the List Tasting at the Metropolitan Pavilion and they recommended the Maritime Hotel because it was within walking distance. I'm so glad they did, or else I may not have found this gem....

I am so glad that you found out about our hotel and had a wonderful stay. It really means so much to us to hear back from our guests. Even if something might have gone a bit awry, we'd always prefer to know about it and fix it. Danielle and Amanda have both been with us for a while. I'll... more

I come to NY twice a year for fashion week and always stay here. What can I say about the Maratime that has not been said, other than they are just FAB... I dream about the bed for 6 months until my trip. I can't stop talking about the staff to everyone who will listen to me. Special mention to...

Ah, a member of our extended Maritime family! Thanks for taking the time to post such a nice note. The blizzards of 2010 & 2011 were quite a lot to deal with, especially for our guests trying to escape. But all that suffering has been rewarded with a wonderful Spring. Our courtyard sprung to life after a long dormant Winter.... more

Good food and nice staff :) The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The hotel food was good quality. The best part was how comfortable the bed was. I found out I had to go to NY the night before. The only flight available got me there around 7am. They did not make me wait until noon to...

I stayed here for a week on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was efficient and courteous, room was blessedly quiet and well-appointed (though small, this being NYC), and the location for me was ideal (with our offices right across the street). Bar/restaurant area is a great place to relax with friends for a drink or two before...

The Maritime is a quirky building that the developers turned into hotel that plays on the it's history as the headquarters for the National Martime Union... the rooms are like cozy staterooms with porthole like windows. We felt comfortable the minute we walked into the building and the staff is friendly and service is attentive and friendly. If you are...

Hey Kendoori Thanks for the review. I have to say, you've hit the nail on the head. Ultra modern/hip/edgy are not words we'd use to describe our hotel either. We prefer relaxed, comfortable, and friendly. There is always a shiny new hotel that will promise to raise your cool factor upon entering the place. But in the end it comes... more

We found the Maritime to be an oasis in the middle of bustling, cool Meatpacking district. The staff was very helpful, gave us a wonderful room (all have sort of a view), and we got useful advice all along our stay. Beautiful maritime interiors, the room was like a ships cabin with a wide window. The hotel restaurant la Bottega...

Thanks so much for the review! Very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and though of our place be an oasis. Sometimes the Meatpacking District can be a lot to handle, so we like to offer up a relaxed, friendly vibe to come home to. Once we are through with these April Showers, the Terrace will really come alive!... more

The first thing that struck me about this place was the lobby. It felt more like a lounge than anything else. It is attached to two very nice restaurants (Italian and Japanese) and a bar all of which I found time to enjoy at one time or another and all of which I recommend. I didn't get to explore the...

We're so glad to hear you liked the lobby. We redesigned it after a few years because we wanted to warm the space up and make it more inviting for guests to enjoy a coffee, some wine by the fire, or host small get togethers. Glad to hear you were also able to make it to the restaurants and the... more
