Checked into the W Union Square after a couple of nights in the W Midtown. Both properties couldn’t be more different in terms of style and setup, and both have their pros and cons, but I found this to be the better one. The location, on the edge of SoHo makes for a much more interesting holiday location than midtown....

Overall the stay was fine, but I wanted to let people know that for the price of the room it's pretty standard and there are much better options out there. Olives restaurant where you go for breakfast has the worst, slowest service ever and some of the staff couldn't crack a smile even if they tried. Miserable. Cups & glasses...

Gorgeous, well laid-out room. Very quiet inside rooms - you don't hear neighbors. Only 2 downsides: club music constantly plays in lobby & elevators; and bed, although beautiful, was way too soft. Would give 5 stars if the bed was as good as everything else.

I was unimpressed with a recent weekend stay here. We arrived super late night (think 1 a.m.) and there was no doorman nor anyone to help with our bags. We noticed over the course of our three-night stay that this was the norm. There was rarely a doorman, and when there was, he was usually too busy chatting with people...

Excellent service, great big room, love the bath products. The wherever/whenever operator was like out of a commercial for the W. I asked for the weather and she gave me the most helpful answer on the weather, the breeze, and what outerwear she would recommend. Beyond helpful! As a former resident of NYC this is the absolute best location you...

We were advised by friends not to stay at Union Square but in a hotel in midtown. This is purely because of the location of the hotel. However, we have had a bad experience in a well-known hotel in NYC - where the room was old and the shower head fell off. We decided to go with the Union Square...

The location is very handy to the subway and stores and restaurants. The staff at this hotel were fantastic and very helpful. The gym is the best I have ever seen. It was spotless, with modern treadmills, bikes and elipticals and also free weights, balls, and more. The room was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Wireless internet cost $14.95/day.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were almost great except for one staff that gave us wrong directions, otherwise, the service was great. The room is fairly spacious by NYC standards. We had dinner at Olives on the first evening and our meals and service was exceptional. The hotel is nearby the Metro, bus stop,..

I stayed here for 6 nights in April. It rained most of the time but I still had an amazing time whenever in the confides of the W. Treated like royalty from all the staff, people that I hadn't even met somehow would know your name. They were always smiling and happy to have a chat. The bar staff, waiters...
