Stayed at this hotel for four nights and was more than happy with everything. We got it from Hotwire at a great rate for New York city and had a quiet clean and comfortablr room - small but more than adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful and the free internet and bottled water were a great bonus. The area...

After having to change our holiday plans at late notice we found it hard to find anywhere in a great location within our budget but The Jewel was ideal. With 5th Avenue, The Rockefeller, Times Square & Central Park all within a few minutes walk away, you couldn't ask for a better location, from a tourists perspective.
We were lucky...

I cannot say enough about the Jewel.
The location is ideal. It is a 30 second walk to Rockefeller Plaza where there are numerous restaurants, NBC studios and shops (Banana Republic, J.Crew, etc.). Be sure to check out the lower level of Rockefeller Plaza for quick, healthy meals and snacks. Two subway stops (for different lines) are also very nearby....

LUDICROUS FEES--EVEN FOR NYC $180 unwarranted fee added. I agreed to a $35 late check out fee @ 3 pm. I arrived in the lobby on time, but had to wait as they checked others. At less than 10 mins past 3, they stated that the fee would then be $150! So 10 mins (not my fault) cost $115. I...

The Jewel has tiny rooms. The one we stayed in was top floor, where you can only take the stairs from 14th floor. And it was a tiny room though modern and clean with coffee machine and a nice desk. Our window was facing a wall that was the worst part of it. Other than that it was a nice...

This hotel was nice and clean with friendly service. The location is really the best thing about this place. It is across from Rockefeller Center and one block from Broadway. It is about eight blocks to Central Park and the subway downtown is close by. The rooms were clean and there was complimentary internet access which was a nice bonus....

I travel a lot, but this is the first time I've ever written a review. I was so completely impressed with The Jewel that I felt obligated to share it. I am convinced that you won't beat the combination of hotel quality and price anywhere else in New York City.
Right off the bat...if you want something swanky, with a...

I was very much looking forward to a five night stay at The Jewel. I had a prepay reservation thru Hotwire that I had made in February. Armed with confirmation numbers for both the Jewel and Hotwire I arrived at 1030pm the day of check in to find The Jewel could not find my reservation and had no room to...

We were booked into The Manhattan Centre Hotel but, on arrival, we were told by a very pleasant receptionist that we had been transferred into their sister hotel, The Jewel, a few doors away.We found we were on the 11th floor in the newly built tower. What a delight - a spacious, spotless, comfortable and perfectly quiet room with microwave and fridge,...

Got a great deal through Hot Wire but were unsure how nice the hotel was going to be. It turned out to be very nice, clean and in a great location. The Jewel is across the street from the Rockefeller Center, right by the shops on 5th Avenue, and walking distance to Grand Central Station, Times Square and Central Park....
