We stayed in the garden room of 131 Guest House and loved it. The area is alright, we thought it was easy to reach after experimenting a bit with public transport. It's much cheaper than anything else we could find and it doesn't take too long to get into Manhattan or any of NYC attractions. We really enjoyed our stay....

We spent 7 nights at the 127th apartment, that is large, light and well furnished. The area is fine, near two main subway stations and many stores are around. Bert is friendly and available when requested. Metro north is a little bit noisy by night but it has never bothered my sleep. It is easy (and free !) to park...

Don't be put off by Harlem - it's only two stops by subway from Times Square. The hotel is warm, quiet and extremely comfortable that with the help of a kitchen turned out to be one of New York's gem's. For budget conscious travelers, and who isn't, you can't go past this place. Bert is an aimiable and well informed...

I would reccomend the place if you are looking for something cheap but still nice. I went with 2 friends and stayed for just 3 nights, so we used the rooms just to sleep but in case you need to cook or live the apartment during the day, it is completely equipped and very nice furnished. The only bad point...

Last week, I spent three nights in Chic & Budget. I chose this guesthouse for two reasons: its location in the north of Manhattan, since my prime goal was to visit the Cloisters, and the encouraging reviews. My double room was spacious for a single person, but the bed may be smallish for two persons. The room was light, clean...

My boyfriend and I just recently stayed at Guest 127 house- large room. We had a wonderful experience. Honestly, this place exceeded our expectations and really added an extra enjoyment to our trip. We knew we could explore the city and come back to our cozy and convenient room. We slept great, took hot showers, prepared meals in the friendly/quiet...

Very interesting places. We tried 3 appartements: 131 st West, 132 st West and 127 st East. Only the last one is a little bit less attractive cause little bit noisy during the night (train proximity). But I strongly recommend Chic&budget and very warm team. Furthermore, Harlem is a very interesting place to be (other view of NYC)...Don't miss it.

We rented the master and double bedroom at the 127 Guest House for our family of 6 to stay while seeing NYC. It was just perfect. The bedrooms and shared kitchen and dining/common areas were immaculate, beautifully furnished and decorated. The full kitchen was perfectly appointed and modern. It was very helpful to have nice fresh bed linens and towels...

New York is EXPENSIVE. One can easily spend all of their trip budget on an over-priced, crummy hotel room alone - this is why I was thrilled to find Chic&Budget! Bert owns several guest houses and apartments that he rents out at extremely reasonable prices. We were a group of five, so in order to find an accommodation that would...
