On the plus side:
- great location
- the lobby's atmosphere [hip bar] is amazing
- spacious, stylish "black" room [but some might dislike it]. We had a "Large King" room, 209.
- Great bed.
On the negative side:
- On Saturday morning, the shower never really got warm enough. For that kind of money, that's just unacceptable.
- The...

This was my third stay with the Ace Hotel NY since theyd. I have to agree with the reviewer below, looks like the third strike and they're out.
My first stay was not too long after they'dd. There were *lots*of little problems, (tv didn't work, things were missing from the room, things that were advertised were not yet...

Aesthetically this hotel is A1. The services are top notch too. But the vibe in the lobby is just awful. People everywhere trying to out do each other in the cool stakes. Great on a night out, but not at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon. It just makes for an uncomfortable place to hang out. I can see what Ace...

The Ace is more about hobnobbing with your hipster brethren than a hotel stay experience. Tiny rooms are still pleasant and functional. Bathroom is minuscule with huge showerhead requiring you stand an inch away from the soap dispenser.
Still, the lobby, the corridors, the bar, the restaurant - all fun. Location is cool as well. Staff is attentive and committed...

My partner was booked to stay here during a conference, and I tagged along. Have to admit I was a little leery of staying in a place that, online anyway, seemed to cater to a tragically-hip 20-somethings, read: not us. When I arrived @ 12am, I was happy to find the bar and a friendly, chatty staff. The room...

In three visits I have encountered a TV that doesn't work, broken window blinds, broken thermostat and broken ironing board.. Staff was quick to fix, but was hoping for a stay where I actually didn't encounter something broken or not functioning correctly.
Walls are thin. Was woken up by a "conversation" across the hall through two closed doors.
Bathrooms are...

Want to feel old and unhip? Take a room at the Ace. My room was a 'medium King' and I liked it - relatively large for Manhattan and the bathroom was good. Style is their hallmark, but there's substance too. Just be prepared for dark rooms, near-pitch black hallways and all-black elevators.
The restaurant is very good (insist on a...

a beautifully designed hotel in the heart of Manhattan! The rooms are really nice, the design shows up in all the small details. The service of the staff is also top notch, very friendly and cooperative.
I was less impressed with the lobby filling up with non-guests attracted to the hipster vibe and free internet, no place to sit back...

My husband and I stayed here this past Saturday night and couldn't have been more impressed. We arrived a little early for check-in and the vibe in the lobby was happy and quietly bustling. We were equally impressed with the room that was large and stylishly decorated. The bed was also super cozy. Back to the lobby: the scene that...

Awesome desk service, Hotel is unlike any I've stayed in. The downstairs transitions into a "night club" type seen at night. Rooms are clean and super unique, Def a good stay
