This hotel was awesome for the price. Good food. Decent rooms. Great Casino.
Overdevelopment killed the Sahara. It is hard to stay afloat when they destroyed the hotels that linked it to central strip and got half way through their replacements before running out of money. Very historic hotel that was loved by many.

I have stayed at the Sahara many times since 1992. It is just a shame to see her go down hill like she has. The most wonderful thing about the hotel was the staff. Bill, a porter that has been there since 1964 would come running when he heard us pull up on our bike...only to greet us with hugs...

Although I've got my stuff at the Riviera, I decided to stopover and reserved at the Sahara...
The employees are nice and friendly (besides that they'll loose their jobs in two more weeks) and I noticed that the hotel is pretty basic and they just have two pillows on their beds: for me it's fine, but I don't think would...

Having stayed at the Sahara with family members twice a year from 1995-2007, I was quite upset to learn of their imminent closing(May 16). I had to stay one last time, Was
there 4-19-11. It was bittersweet and sad. Coffee shop closed, buffet closed, 2 of the 3
towers closed, some of my favorite machines already gone, NO entertainment, not...

I've stayed at the Sahara hotel 5 times in the past 5 years. Never had a problem and never given a bad review. Yeah, it's old, but it's usually clean and it's within walking distance of the convention center (which is why I stay there).... It's over now!
No more. They are planning on closing this hotel in May, and...

If it was not for my sister making the reservations, I would have never allowed it. We ordered the "upgrade" and it was just as crappy as the regular rooms. Everything is old. The service was poor, there was a plumbing problem, and everything about it was tacky. The bar area was depressing, there was no spa, the shops were...

Wow. I wrote a pretty positive review of the Sahara a few years back, before news broke of their imminent closing. Two years ago I stayed one night in a standard room and found it serviceable, and particularly loved the positive attitude of many of the facility's employees, as well as the casino floor itself.
Two years later, my opinion...

Hotel claims to have a wonderful pool and hotel to be resort style service. Put frannkley to me when I ask for a guest comment card. "We;re closing and no one would read them if we had them" Swimming pool closes 1 hour after check in so if you check in at 3:00 you may be able to rush down...
