I've stayed here several times for a conference. The property itself is a little run down and shabby and I've had a couple of rooms that were just downright inconvenient to get to. The staff is friendly and the rooms are mostly clean. This stay we did find cigarette butts on the floor in our non-smoking room. We just threw...

My spouse and I decided to try out the breakfast buffet yesterday morning in the Black Bear Lodge. At first glance upon arrival, it was kind of a pest to walk to the bottom of the stairs to 'locate the hostess to be seated' and by pass about two and half rooms of seating. For the price of $12.95, I...

We had a terrific time staying at Tan-Tar-A for Thanksgiving. Yes, the resort is celebrating its 50th year, so realize before you go that it is quaint and charming, like a fine old home and not a McMansion! EVERYONE on staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and immaculate. Enjoyed breakfast at the Black Bear Lodge --...

I stayed at this property in October 2010 while speaking at a conference which was conducted there. I am uncertain as to the price point for the room as the costs were covered by my host.
Overall the property is a 1970s era family focused resort. Over the decades it has been updated in an attempt to keep it relevant....

During our stay in October, we noticed flags announcing that Tan-Tara-A is celebrating its 50 years in business. It is definitely showing its age. That said, it is a truly lovely resort with many, many ammenities. I named my own price on Priceline, pretty much knowing that with the star level I requested, it would be Tan-Tar-A. So for $65...

We stayed at Tan-Tar-A for a convention that my wife attended in early October. This is the low season for the lake area, so it wasn't crowded at all. All of the exterior pools were closed at the time.
Check in service went well and they were helpful in showing us where our room could be found. We were lodged...

The last time I stayed at the Lake of the Ozarks was 30+ years ago as a kid. I remember seeing Tan-Tar-A from a boat and hearing that it was one of the premier destinations at the lake, and I've always wanted to stay there. Fast forward to 2010.
Our oldest son (19) is in a wheelchair. Finding a wheelchair...

Stayed in building D. Very dissapointing. Room was musty, dark and stuck in the 70s. No table one chair, room looked like it was missing furniture. Really need to improve the quality of the rooms. The $10 resort fee each day was a joke. Nice hidden fee.
On the postive the beds were great. We took our boat and the...

When I checked in there an older blonde woman was very rude to me and looked at me like I was stupid when I asked her how the "fun money" works, then I asked her if I needed a code to get into the pool over in the estates and she said "NO, just swipe your card" I told her...

I took my 3 children and their families for a long weekend. I booked 4 rooms in the hotel. My daughter went a day early as planned. When she checked in, she was told that 3 rooms were in the hotel but the fourth was in the Estates. We ended up all going to the Estates. Winding roads, poor directions...
