Central Park SummerStage is a great way to spend an afternoon during the summer as they offer FREE programming in music, dance as well as literary readings. I'm a huge music lover and just last year I saw everything from M.I.A., the MC5, Patti Smith, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and several others all for free. Just beware, video cameras...
