General Information:
During the Spring Break season a specific destination
can be overrun by several thousands of vacationers
during the same week. It’s these shear numbers of
people that make the overall design of Spring Break
travel different from that of the rest. Spring Break
Tour Operators are the ones who take pride in the
planning of each new Spring Break season. So when
choosing who to book your spring break vacation
through please use some of the information below to
help your selection.
Destination details:
Negril, Jamaica:
Negril thought of by many as the "Capital of
Casual" and the #1 spring break destination
sought out by students, rests on the western edge of
Jamaica. Negril claims home to the world famous 7-mile
beach, as well as low lying cliffs known as Negril’s
"West End". Every spring Negril transforms
from a small fishing village into a non-stop Spring
Break Party like no other. This top rated beach is the
focal point of Negril and is home for most students
during their Spring Break vacation to Negril Jamaica.
Montego Bay, Jamaica:
If you are looking for great beaches, snorkeling
cruises, shopping, and exciting Spring Break parties,
but still want the conveniences that a city has to
offer, Montego Bay is the place to be.
Acapulco, Mexico: Once
a glamour girl with a racy reputation, Acapulco has
been reborn into a sultry senorita ready to pen some
tales of her own. Spend your Spring Break vacation at
one of the world’s most renowned and glamorous
hotspots.
Cancun, Mexico:
Cancun is a popular Spring Break Party Destination!
Thousands of college students, miles of white sandy
beaches and enormous nightclubs all combine to make
Cancun a popular Spring Break destination.
Nassau, Bahamas:
The Bahamas is one of the world's most exciting Spring
Break vacation destinations. Combine reggae atmosphere
with beachside bars and high tech nightclubs, and the
Bahamas is a top Spring Break vacation paradise.
Daytona Beach, Florida:
Daytona Beach offers a great location for your Spring
Break Vacation. Lie on the beach or venture a short
drive away to Disney. The Plaza Resort And Spa will be
the center of action with its famous daytime pool deck
parties, nightlyair concerts, and the popular
600 North Nightclub.
Panama City Beach, Florida:
Located on the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico,
there are 27 miles of sugary white sand beaches. There
is also a wide variety of clubs and deck bars offering
corporate sponsored events and live concerts, like
Sharky's, Spinnaker, and the largest nightclub in the
U.S., Club La Vela.
Extra Party Package:
Each Spring Break Tour Operator will offer
VIP party packages. You will find from destination to
destination many different packages. The World Famous
Xtreme Party Pass offered by a few select tour
operators is voted the #1 pass year after year. Any
other ones tend to be very miss leading and sometimes
not nearly the value advertised.
Meal Plans:
Meal Plans are offered in all destinations.
For a brief period each year all Spring Break Tour
Operators & Spring Break Companies offer free meal
plans as early booking incentives. Most companies use
a standard dine around plan. Which sends you to
specific restaurants on set days. These meal plans are
an amazing value and well worth the money spent. You
will typically save yourself $150+ on meals. Watch out
for the operators who give you an altered meal plan if
you receive the free one.
Travel Protection:
Travel Protection Plans will be offered by
all Spring Break Tour Operators & Spring Break
Travel Companies. These plans for $39 are a great way
to protect your money if you are booking an
international trip. They will cover anywhere from a
partial to full refund less the premium. The companies
that offer full refunds are usually the companies
offering a Plan that looks out for you and is not
there for them to make an extra buck.
Spring Break Booking Process:
Once you have done adequate research on a
couple different Spring Break tour operators, the
booking process for reserving your trip is basic. A
first payment is required to reserve your trip. After
that you must follow the payment schedule outlined in
your tour operators "Terms and Condition".
These Terms and Conditions are extremely important for
both you and your tour operator. It is basically a
contract outlining what the tour operator has to
provide for you pending your payments. After the
deposit payment some companies require nothing until
the final payment date, while others will require a
second payment to break down the full amount prior to
final payment being due. In either case follow the
payment schedule and pay your bill on time!
Spring Break FAQ:
Do you need a passport?
No, not for most Spring Break destinations
offered. A passport alone will work and is suggested
but not required. US Citizens need an original birth
certificate with the raised seal accompanied with a
state issued picture ID (driver’s license or
identification card).
Are there any hidden costs?
Once you book a trip the only fee’s to be
incurred after that are:
- Fuel & Security surcharges imposed by the
airlines
- Name change fees, if you can't go and someone takes
your spot
- Credit Card Fees, if you make final payment with a
credit card you may be charged. This is normal; if a
company advertises no credit card fees they are just
hiding them.
What types of flights are used?
Scheduled Air &
Charter. All flights are scheduled Friday, Saturday or
Sunday and you won't typically find out until about 14
Days before your vacation. Beware of Spring Break
Companies offering guaranteed and confirmed flights
this early in the season.
Are there any age requirements?
No, if the passenger is under the age of 18
they must have a parental consent form.
How much money am I going to need?
Everybody has different spending habits and
students should use their own judgment in deciding how
much money to take for Spring Break. Some students can
get by on $200 while others need much more. Typically
around $300 is what most students spend.
What do I need to pack?
Everyone travels differently. For some, a
swimsuit and a pair of sandals are about all that’s
needed. Other Spring Breakers plan to leave the beach
at least some of the time and pack a larger variety of
clothes. While there are nights where you will want to
dress to impress there is no reason to bring your best
jewelry and $1000 watch. If there is something that
you would be really upset if you lost, then it's best
to leave it at home!
